The Wapiti traveled up to Proctor for a Wednesday night showdown. Winchendon had a strong start, setting the tone early on with a lot of offensive pressure. Kaylen Taddia ’22 opened up the scoring by crashing the net and putting home a rebound off a shot from Grace Fitzgerald ’22. The Wapiti retained momentum, tallying 13 shots through the first period. In the second, Winchendon would add to their lead on a powerplay goal from Julia Holmes ’20, her sixth of the season. Proctor continued to battle, and undisciplined play by Winchendon led to many powerplay opportunities for the home team. Hannah Bergeron ’22 stood tall in net, making some outstanding saves. In the third, Proctor scored off a loose puck in front and regained momentum, but Winchendon’s solid penalty killing prevailed in the end. The Wapiti skated away with the 2-1 victory and will be out on the road again Saturday against Rivers.
