In the second meeting this season and second game of the day, Winchendon faced off against NMH. With back-and-forth play throughout the first ten minutes of the first period, Rhea Bullens ’23 battled off a defensive zone face off to get the puck to Lizzie Emerson ’21 who carried the puck down the ice and continued on a 2v1, feeding the puck to Pierce ’23 for a give and go back to Emerson, who tapped it home to make it a 1-0 game. With just under six minutes to play in the first Jen Rickard ’20 took control of the puck off a blocked shot by Olivia Benoit ’21 in the defensive zone, skated it down the ice and eventually stuffed it home for her first goal of the season. Throughout the second and third period both teams remained scoreless. Winchendon netminder Hannah Bergeron ’21 tallied her second shutout this season. As a result, the Wapiti will be heading to the championship game of the tournament against Williston.
