Mountain climbing in Alaska and trekking in Thailand were big adventures, but for Chantal her biggest adventure (and most treasured accomplishment) is the raising of her daughter, Roseane ’18. Chantal’s road to teaching started with a desire to travel and explore the world, but she says, “since I started working at The Winchendon School, I have not felt the need to travel as much since the world comes to us here.” Lately Chantal has been raising bees at Elkins House, her Winchendon home, with Rosie and husband, Jacques Delorme.
- Superpower of choice: If I could choose a super power, I would definitely choose to fly. First of all, I’ve always liked traveling, but do so less and less because of all of the luggage, security checks and waiting time involved in traveling. Flying would force me to travel lightly, and I could see so much of the world if I could just flap my arms around to get somewhere.
- Favorite Winchendon tradition: Mountain Day is always so much fun. I love seeing everyone encouraging one another to reach the top. At the top of the mountain, it is so cool to see most students brimming with pride over their accomplishment.
- On the bucket list: I would like to walk the Pacific Crest Trail and/or the St. Jacques de Compostelle trail in France/Spain. I hope to see you on one of these trails!
