The Wapiti welcomed Wyoming Seminary to The Jason Ritchie ’05 Arena for their second game of the back to back. After a brief feeling-out period, the game settled into quite the battle on a Saturday afternoon. Jacob Bernadet ’22 opened the scoring for Winchendon off of a great feed from captain Daniel Cavanagh ’20 and Jacob Black ’21. The score heading into the first break was 1-1 but the Winchendon boys carried a majority of the play for the period. The second frame was much more of the same with back and forth play and a ton of Wapiti shots on net. Nolan McDonough ’21 and Anthony DeLorenzo ’21 both found the back of the net and Winchendon took the lead into the room to prepare for the third. Junior forward Paden Hicks ’21 bangs home a rebound in the third period which turned out to be the eventual game-winner as Winchendon topped Wyoming Seminary 4-3! PG netminder Liam Kilgallen ’20 earns the win stopping 22 of 25. The Wapiti have a long week of practice before returning to action at Kents Hill School (ME) January 25th. Puck drop in that one is set for 3:00pm in Kents Hill, ME.
