Over the past few years, The Winchendon School’s hockey program has seen tremendous growth both on and off the ice. With the help and support of both our alumni and current parents, we are a major competitor in the prep school hockey world, and have been fortunate enough to have some world class athletes on our teams. In fact, the graduating class of 2017 contained four Division I college commitments; two players are headed to Union College, one to Providence College, and one to Quinnipiac College. Our coaches will now look to our returners and newcomers to step into new leadership roles. James Corcoran (PG ’18) has certainly risen to the challenge in the past and has shown that he is ready to perform for The Winchendon School by earning an invite to this year’s Boston Bruins Development Camp.
James comes to The Winchendon School after playing for Walpole High School the past four years, where he compiled some outstanding numbers. While leading his school’s team to their first Super-8 appearance, James finished his senior season with an impressive stat line of 0.46 GAA, 0.970 Save%, and 14 shutouts. Just days ago, he was lucky enough to skate alongside some of the best young players from all over the world when he got the call to join the Bruins Development Camp on July 7th and 8th.
