LEARNING TO CHALLENGE YOURSELF

“I came to Winchendon in a very specific comfort bubble, but I will leave Winchendon having popped that bubble and having been able to explore new dimensions of myself and of my interests and passions.”

Brinkley came to The Winchendon School looking for something new. When she got here, she found opportunities to challenge herself academically, improve her skills, take risks, and make new connections.

- Brinkley came to the Winch looking to challenge herself academically and she was very happy to find that her coursework would do just that. From the start, Winchendon helped her test her limits and cultivate her skills. Her diligence and dedication earned her schoolwide recognition when she earned the Posich Award.
- Winchendon has also provided Brinkley with opportunities to continue her passion for writing. A powerful writer for the school newspaper, The Wapiti Weekly, a playwright for a short play that aired on YouTube, and a student in Playwriting class, Brinkley has been able to perfect her craft and incorporate it into her academic life. Again earning accolades, Brinkley earned the Draugsvold Award for Excellence in Communications during her Junior year.
- Brinkley didn’t just challenge herself in the classroom. She stepped up and tried hockey. Brinkley joined the JV Womens Hockey team and found that she really enjoyed the game! She continued practicing and now has a new interest, a new team, and new friends.
- Does anything surprise Brinkley about The Winchendon School? Yes, she’ll tell you. She didn’t expect to find a warm and friendly community, now she has a group of lifelong friends that she says she wouldn’t trade for the world.
After graduating from the Winch in ’22, Brinkley headed off to Bryn Mawr College outside of Philadelphia, where she is thriving.
