We are here for our students 360° wellbeing.

Onsite Nursing Staff

The Student Health Services Office is open daily to treat minor illnesses or injuries. There are two nurses on duty during the day and one at night. Our nurses manage and administer students’ prescription medications on a daily basis and communicate relevant, timely information with parents and faculty. They are warm, loving, and supportive of students, faculty, and staff. If a medical need arises that requires services beyond the scope of the Student Health Services, an appointment will be made with an appropriate provider.

Local Facilities

With the local Winchendon Health Center within one mile of campus, students have easy, quick access to routine care and first line diagnosis. If further support is necessary, Heywood Hospital in neighboring Gardner is a highly-rated regional hospital and located less than 10 miles from campus. Heywood is, in turn, affiliated with UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. There are also three pharmacies within walking distance of campus. Transportation to non-emergency appointments can be contracted with an independent service, such as a taxi.

Just in Case, We’re Right by the Best

We are just over an hour from the world-renowned hospitals located in Boston, Massachusetts, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston Children’s and Brigham and Women’s. In case of an emergency or a complex medical issue, families can opt for the student to be escorted into Boston for treatment. In any emergency situation, we will always be in communication with the family.
