On Friday, January 17th, the Wapiti welcomed the Wildcats of Williston Northampton School to The Jason Ritchie ’05 Arena. After suffering a loss just a few days prior, Winchendon looked to right the ship in a hard matchup with Williston. With plenty of fan support, the Wapiti came out flying and headed into the first break up two. Jacob Black ’21 and Sean Savage ’20 found the back of the net in the first period. It was more of the same in the second period as both Black and Savage added another to their stat line. Coming into the third period up 4-0 meant nothing to the Wapiti as the looked to continue to push the pace of play. Captain Daniel Cavanagh ’20 and Max Fawcett ’21 both chip in on the scoring to push the final score to 6-1 in favor of the good guys. Senior netminder Maxim Caouette ’20 was stellar between the pipes stopping 30 of 31 shot attempts. The Wapiti have a quick turnaround as the plan to take on Wyoming Seminary Saturday, January 18th at The Ritchie.
