Students in Massachusetts and New York celebrated the Lunar New Year. New York City students participated in learning about the history and traditions of the Lunar new Year, including how to write and say “Happy New Year” in Mandarin. After exploring the Chinese zodiac, students topped of the experience by eating dumplings from one of our community partners, The Market.
“When we went to pick up dumplings, it was so sweet to see students deliver a Happy Lunar New Year card to Qin Qin and wish her a Happy New Year in Mandarin. The dumplings were great and so was the day!”
For students in Massachusetts, Sage Dining treated them to from scratch Pho bowls, dumplings, and traditional foods. The Student Government decorated Faculty Hall for the holiday and the weekend food truck was an Asian fusion menu. International students gave sushi lessons and red envelopes were seen across campus.
