Did you know The Winchendon School offers an opportunity to actually reduce the price of tuition over your years at TWS?

As educators, we recognize the greatest gift a child can receive is an outstanding education  – and we are also very sensitized to the cost of an exceptional education. Many of us are also current or former private school parents ourselves. We share our parents’ concerns about costs, value, and tuitions that escalate over the course of multiple years of high school.

Winchendon is the only selective school or college, that we are aware of, that has created a program that allows our students and their families to “earn” lower tuition for each year after the first that you are at Winchendon. Our BetterED Tuition Reduction Program provides returning students with the chance to “earn” a reduction in tuition for the following year. This opportunity is based on good effort and citizenship throughout the current academic year.  Few, if any other, schools or colleges offer their families a chance to reduce tuition costs during their academic careers.   On average, families would have the opportunity to save more than $12,000  – and potentially more – over a four year Winchendon high school career – versus facing increases at most, if not all, other schools.

You and your family will have the opportunity to earn a decrease in the following year’s tuition through good effort and citizenship – effectively meeting effort expectations in the classroom and not violating major school rules.   It is expected that approximately 60-65% of current students will qualify for the Tuition Reduction Program for the 2021-22 year.  Achieving the Tuition Reduction each year is about “showing up and trying” – not necessarily making  honors or being perfect.   We all make minor mistakes, and doing so doesn’t disqualify you from the potential savings.  Show up and meet expectations, and you will save your family money on next year’s tuition.   And the costs can decrease even more over multiple years.

In-network Tuition: The NYC Advantage

Two campuses, endless possibilities and better outcomes at a lower price compared to many other schools.  For families living within 75 miles of midtown NYC, a great high school education is within reach.  

Beginning in 2021, Winchendon has expanded its In-network tuition pricing to include towns and cities within 75 miles of Grand Central Terminal.

What is In-network Tuition Pricing?

Four years ago with the opening of Winchendon’s second campus location, the School recognized the need to offer families the opportunity to attend either Winchendon School campus.  For parents looking for the structured independence a boarding school offers, having the opportunity to enroll their child(ren) at Winchendon’s flagship  in Winchendon, MA at a lower cost compared to other peer schools, and still benefiting from the small classes and extracurricular activities less than fours hours from NYC.

For the 2021-22 School Year, the In-network tuition will be:

• 7-day boarding on MA campus – $57,150

How much does it cost to attend the NYC campus as a day student?

The NYC day tuition is $42,000.
