This Alabama man has embraced his move to the Northeast. If asked for his most exciting adventure Robert says, “I feel that I am in the midst of it. Moving to the northeast and becoming a part of the Winchendon community has been a phenomenal life experience.” Making the move from Florida to Winchendon with Robert and Laura DiCarlo (Associate Admissions Director) was Bergy, their well-behaved lab/terrier mix, who tries not to miss an opportunity to cheer at Winchendon games.
By the way...
- Thoughts on teaching: “My upbringing was based on giving your best effort no matter what you’re doing, having respect for others, and learning from your mistakes.”
- Favorite Winchendon tradition: Senior Dinner at the end of the year is a whirlwind of emotions and excitement. It is a celebration of the long journey a student took to prepare them for the next chapter in life. Many of the students went through tough times and experienced many failures, but they trusted the faculty, kept pushing forward, and reached a new understanding about themselves. It is a very special night for everyone.
- Heroine: My mother is a powerhouse of strength and determination. She has persevered through several tragedies and never lost her poise or direction. As an educator, I try to teach my students these values and hopefully realize what life can throw their way.
