If there is singing on campus there is a very good chance that Fiona will be nearby. She is constantly and creatively engaging Winchendon’s singers and actors – whether they are first-time singers or accomplished ones Fiona knows how to elicit their best. We aren’t the only ones who recognize her talents; Fiona was a quarter-finalist for the GRAMMY Music Educator Award. As for her heroine look no further than Lucy Pevensie from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. When it’s time for vacation Fiona and her husband, Ed Grueter, hit the road and the skies from the West Coast of the U.S. to the world.
By the way...
- Favorite Winchendon event: I love the Winch Coffee Houses. I have been hosting them on Friday evenings my entire time here at Winch. They are such fun and a great opportunity for students to share their passions and talents.
- Bucket list item: I want to go to Brazil and participate in a traditional Capoeira roda!
- Superpower of choice: Fly! My family lives on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, and many of my closest friends are scattered around the globe. If I had to ability to fly I could pop home for a cup of tea and a chat or hand out with my friends whenever I wanted.
- Favorite place and books on hand: My favorite place is the Aran Islands with The Hobbit and The Screwtape Letters on the shelf.
