Schedule a Visit
To arrange a campus tour and interview, please contact the Admissions Office at 978-297-4476, or via email to [email protected]. We host candidates Monday through Friday with limited availability on Saturday. The campus visit lasts approximately two hours. If a visit to campus is not possible, interviews can also be completed by Skype.
Register for Testing
For 9th and 10th grade applicants, register to take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) through the SSAT website or by phone (609-683- 4440). Be sure to list The Winchendon School (School Code 8242) as a school where your child is applying. The school also accepts ISEE and/or Educational/Neuro-Psychological Testing (i.e., WISC, Woodcock-Johnson, WIAT, etc.). For 11th, 12th and PG applicants, Winchendon will accept the PSAT, SAT or ACT.
For International Students:
All international applicants for whom English is not their first language must also take either the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Visit the ETS website or call (609-771- 7100) for more information. The Winchendon's TOEFL code is 3012.
International applications (grades 9-12 and PG) whose first language is NOT English must submit English proficiency test results. Students can provide results from the DuoLingo English Test (DET). DuoLingo has created a reliable and user-friendly English language proficiency exam that students can take on any platform (computer, phone, tablet). It is a fast and inexpensive alternative to other options—it takes approximately 30 minutes and costs $49. The exam uses computer-adaptive testing, meaning the questions will adapt to each test-takers’ ability, generating a different set of questions for every session. The exam requires the Google Chrome browser and your computer's self-facing camera and microphone. The testing session is recorded and verified by a Duolingo Procter, and the results are available within 48 hours.

English proficiency scores from TOEFL, TOEFL Jr., iTEP SLATE, or IELTS will be accepted in lieu of the DuoLingo English Test (DET).
The Winchendon School has rolling admissions with a priority deadline of January 15th. For your convenience, applicants may apply using the Winchendon Online Application, the Standard Application Online or the Gateway to Prep Schools Application. If you complete the Winchendon Application during your visit, we will waive the application fee.
